What is Ultrasound Therapy?
Ultrasound machine creates sound waves that are inaudible for the human ear. These sound waves travel through the skin into the body. Gel is used to help sound wave enter into your body through the sound head of the ultrasound machine.
How does it work?
As ultrasound passes through the treatment head into the skin, it produces vibration in the surrounding tissues. This increase vibration produces heat within the tissues. This increase in temperature may cause extendibility of ligaments, tendons,
scar tissue and fibrous joint capsule. Heat produced may also help to relief pain and muscle spasm and promotes the healing process.
Common Uses of Ultrasound:
- Decreases Swelling
- Relief pain or muscles spasm
- Promotes healing
- Relief tightness in the body tissues.
- Prepare muscles or joints for stretching or exercises
